Well, qualifiers are over. I’m tied for 5th Place headed into the Semi-Final round. The problems were great. Big props to the setters. They might have been a bit easy, but who doesn’t like to finish a bunch of boulders! I managed to flash 5 problems, and only fell once on Problem #2 (matching the finish hold) before completing it. I’m psyched! This past week has been stressful. Despite feeling stronger on plastic than ever before, the “try hard” and the “snap” have been missing from my gym sessions in the last week. Today, I managed to pull it out and gain some confidence headed into the next round. Semi-finals begin at 10am MST tomorrow (Saturday) morning. I’m not much of a morning climber but you can be sure that I’ll be prepared to compete with the help of a few key things:

1. Espresso (Double Shot!)
2. Power Breakfast (egg, sausage, avocado, tomato, feta cheese, pita bread…)
3. Ibuprofen
4. And Music, such as:

…As with any electronic music, listen to it with nice headphones, or on a nice sound system. You have to feel it!
