From my good friend Cameron Maier at Bear Cam Media comes a feature length bouldering film about our time in Vastervik, Sweden at the end of September. Great times with friends, tons of high quality boulders, and a few trips to the sauna! The trip was a blast. Check it out!

Do not use a blowtorch on rock you idiot. It damages the rock and as a pro-climber you should know this.
Why blowtorch the rock, it destroys it. Terrible lack of respect.
I wrote a response on 8a.nu that addresses the issue. However, I must admit that this whole issue seems to be blown out of proportion. We certainly were not running around torching every wet rock in sight. The use of the torch was very isolated and encouraged by the locals. Personally, I am not a fan of this method of drying rock, but under the circumstances, this is the method that was used. In a community where a large majority of the elders have supported the practices of “chipping” and “gluing”, I’m not sure why a short clip of torching, all of a sudden, merits a witch hunt. You don’t see me publicly bashing the legends of climbing history for manufacturing some of the most famous routes of all time. Those same cliffs could have held the future projects of tomorrow. Graeme, your fierce shortsightedness in addressing this issue reflects terribly on you as a person. In the future, I would appreciate a more respectful comment.
What Graeme said
Carlo, I don’t think “but the other kids were doing it” it much of a defense.
Sort it out.
I agree that just because other people are doing it doesn’t make it ok. My response hardly uses that as an excuse, more as an explanation of the circumstances.
Nice and enjoyable video. Amazing boulders. Do not pay attention to the agressive messages, do not deserve your time.
Just a stupid question: What are the songs being played on the video?
Yes, i agree, i really want to know the name of the first song !
Cool video, btw
