I first met Paul Robinson in Bishop, California climbing at the Buttermilks on a spring break trip in 2004. He was relatively unknown in the climbing world at the time, but his talent was unmistakable. I watched him hike The Mandala V12 a few times, and knew then that it wouldn’t be the last I saw or heard of him. Sure enough he has continued to rampage over the years becoming one of, if not the most, accomplished boulderer of our generation. Paul and I have maintained our friendship over the years, and I have the utmost respect for him as a person as well as a climber. As most already know, Paul spent the last year repeating (basically all) and establishing some of the hardest boulder problems in the world. Upon his recent return to the US, he made his way back out to Boulder, CO for a little vacation time. While hosting him at my house, I made every effort to help him enjoy his 10-day vacation. Jon Glassberg, the other partner in crime, put together a nice video highlighting our week:

Also while in town, Paul showed me a bunch of the footage from his travels. Looks AMAZING! He’ll be compiling all of it into “The Schengen Files”, due out some time later this year. Check out the trailer:
