Yesterday, we ventured back up to Magic Wood.  It is by far my favorite area in this country and I was psyched to hear that the weather would allow a day of climbing.  Practice of the Wild 8C had some wet holds on it, making it impossible to give it a send burn.  Bummer.  I will be back next year.  I did manage an ascent of Voigas 8A+ which was a remarkable effort for me.  I’ve tried it since I first got to Magic Wood over a month ago, and the gigantic moves have always felt completely impossible to me.  But the SNAP is back!  After sorting some beta, I managed an ascent after hucking myself into the fingerlock and holding the one-arm swing.  CRAZY!  Here’s a video still:

The bad weather is sweeping back through the area.  Magic Wood is getting snowed on today, which means it probably won’t be good for the extent of my visit.  Southern Switzerland is getting a lot of rain.  Looks as though the next few days will be plagued with REST.  Did I mention I hate resting.  I only rest when I’m forced too.  It’s supposed to stop raining by Wednesday.  Then it’s GAME ON!
